Kejuruteraan Kimia?

Kejuruteraan kimia adalah suatu bidang kejuruteraan yang menggabungkan pengetahuan kimia, fizik, matematik dan disiplin-disiplin lain untuk mereka bentuk dan membangunkan pelbagai proses untuk penghasilan, transformasi dan pengangkutan bahan kimia serta tenaga. Jurutera kimia menggunakan asas-asas kimia, termodinamik dan mekanik bendalir untuk mereka bentuk, mengendali dan mengoptimumkan proses kimia di pelbagai bidang industri termasuk industri farmaseutikal, makanan dan minuman serta minyak dan gas. Mereka akan terlibat dalam keseluruhan kitar hayat produk berasaskan kimia, dari penyelidikan dan pembangunan ke pembuatan dan pengedaran. Jurutera kimia memainkan peranan kritikal untuk menambah baik kecekapan dan kelestarian proses kimia selain memelihara keselamatan dan pematuhan alam sekitar.

Kejuruteraan Kimia @ USM

Program kejuruteraan kimia di USM memperoleh akreditasi oleh Agensi Kualiti Malaysia (Malaysian Quality Agency) dan Majlis Akreditasi Kejuruteraan (Engineering Accreditation Council) dan menerima pengiktirafan antarabangsa melalui Washington Accord. Tempoh pengajian ialah selama 8 semester termasuk latihan industri. Lebih daripada 2000 jurutera kimia telah dilahirkan, yang mana graduan-graduan kami memperoleh pengetahuan asas dan teknikal serta kemahiran-kemahiran menyelesaikan masalah, kerja berpasukan dan berkomunikasi dengan penekanan terhadap etika dan tanggungjawab. Program pengajian berhasrat untuk menyediakan pelajar-pelajar dengan keupayaan-keupayan pembelajaran sepanjang hayat dan penyesuaian terhadap perubahan teknologi.
