Master of Science (MSc) in Chemical Engineering by research

Master of Science in Chemical Engineering

The School of Chemical Engineering USM offers a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Chemical Engineering program at the postgraduate level. Enrolled students must conduct independent research and complete a thesis or project on a specific field of study. They are expected to gain advanced knowledge related to the chosen field of study at fundamental and applied levels. Graduates of an M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering program may pursue a variety of careers in research, development, design, production, quality control, and management. They may also go on to pursue further education, such as a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related field.

M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering @USM

Students enrolled in M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering at USM will be closely guided by a main supervisor and assisted by co-supervisors who are experts in their selected fields. There are various research field areas offered such as membrane separation process, advanced process control, nanoparticles, adsorption, carbon materials, bioconversion, enzyme technology, biofuel and etc. This M.Sc. program can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis. In general, the studies will involve a literature review, proposal presentation, planning and conducting of experimental works, modeling and simulation works, preparation and submission of research articles, and final thesis submission for oral examination.
