Workshop on ‘Amalan 3R & Keusahawanan Di Dalam Penyediaan Penyubur Tanaman Enzim Lestari'
A workshop on ‘Amalan 3R & Keusahawanan Di Dalam Penyediaan Penyubur Tanaman Enzim Lestari Sekolah Kebangsaan Bertam Perdana, Pulau Pinang’ was successfully organised by the School of Chemical Engineering on 26 October 2023 at PUMA Hall, USM Engineering Campus. This collaborative project is an initiative of cooperation between the School of Chemical Engineering, Centre for Co-Curricular Programme, Sekolah Kebangsaan Bertam Perdana and its Parents and Teachers Association (PIBG).
This project is supported by the Malaysian Ministry of Education and sponsored by the Malaysian National Commission for UNESCO.
The workshop raises awareness on the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse & Recycle) practises that can be applied at home and at school. The element of sustainable entrepreneurship is also embedded to open the eyes of secondary school students that transforming waste can lead to profitable income generation. The know-how to produce eco-enzymes from organic waste is shared with a group of teachers and students so that they can replicate the same process at school.
The programme leader, Dr Azam Taufik Bin Mohd Din, is very grateful to Dr Masrina Mohd Nadzir and Assoc. Prof. Dr Mohd Sayuti Hassan of CGSS for providing their expertise. He also thanks the co-organiser, Chemical Engineering Students Society (CHESS) and the administrative staff for their strong support.
3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) today for a better tomorrow!
