Details About the Master of Science (Chemical Engineering)

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants should possess the following:

Applicants should possess the following:
(i) A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technology, or Applied Science with

a) A minimum CGPA of 2.75 out of 4.00; or
b) A CGPA ranging from 2.50 to 2.74 out of 4.00, subject to the following additional requirements:
 A minimum of one (1) year of research experience; or
 A minimum of one (1) year of working experience in a related field; or
 A minimum of one (1) academic publication in a related field; or
 A minimum Grade B for major/elective courses; or
 A minimum Grade B+ for the final year project.
c) A CGPA ranging from 2.00 to 2.49 out of 4.00 (Bachelor’s Degree with Honours), subject to the following additional requirements:
 A minimum of five (5) years of research experience; or
 A minimum of five (5) years of working experience in a related field; AND
 At least one (1) academic publication in a related field; or
 A minimum Grade B for major/elective courses; or
 A minimum Grade B+ for the final year project.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

(Applicable for International Applicants only)

• A minimum MUET Band 3.5; or
• A minimum IELTS score of 5.0; or
• A minimum TOEFL iBT score of 40; or
• A minimum TOEFL Essentials (online) score of 7.5; or
• A minimum PTE Academic score of 47; or
• Cambridge English: B1/B2/C1/C2/Linguaskill Online with a minimum score of 154; or
• English is the candidate’s native language or national language; or
• The candidate is a graduate of a Higher Education Institution where the medium of instruction is English; or
• English courses offered by the British Council (the level of qualification and relevant courses shall be determined by the University Postgraduate Studies Council); or
• English courses offered by selected Malaysian public/private universities or institutions (the level of qualification and relevant courses shall be determined by the University Postgraduate Studies Council).

DURATION
  • Full-time: Min 2 semesters / Max 4 semesters
  • Part-time: Min 4 semesters / Max 8 semesters
