
Chemical Engineering Staff Honoured at the University Appreciation Ceremony 2025
1 July 2025, The Setia SPICE Arena in Penang was the stage for a proud moment as Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) held its annual University Appreciation Ceremony on Tuesday, 1 July 2025, at 2:00 p.m. The ceremony celebrated the outstanding contributions of USM staff members, including several from the School of Chemical Engineering, who were recognised for their excellence in service and long-standing dedication to the university.
Excellence Service Awards, (APC) for 2024
Five members of the School of Chemical Engineering were honoured with the Excellence Service Award for the year 2024, recognising their consistent commitment to professionalism, productivity, and excellence in their respective roles. The recipients were:
1. Associate Professor Dr. Vel Murugan Vadivelu
2. Ir. Dr. Nur Ayshah Rosli
3. En. Mohd Yusof Ismail
4. Pn. Esah Abdul Manaf
5. Pn. Normie Hana A. Rahim
These individuals exemplify the values of USM and serve as role models for their peers within the School and beyond.
Anugerah Sanjungan Budi, (ASB) 2025
The ceremony also paid tribute to those who have reached a major milestone in their careers, receiving the 25-Year Service Award. These dedicated individuals have devoted more than two decades to advancing the university’s mission through teaching, research, and support services. The awardees from the School of Chemical Engineering were:
1. Associate Professor Dr. Ridzuan Zakaria
2. En. Che Nurnajib Che Aziz
3. En. Mohd Yusof Ismail
4. Pn. Norzalilah Ahmad
5. En. Osmarizal Osman
Their unwavering commitment has significantly shaped the development and success of the School over the years.
