
Innovate New Materials Technology (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. Hires Newly Graduated Engineers into its Billion-Ringgit Plant in Bertam Technology Park

INV, renowned for developing lithium-ion battery separators with consistent pore size distribution, high stability, no thermal shrinkage in the transverse direction, and excellent high-temperature resistance, held its first recruitment exercise on Tuesday, 22 July 2025.
The Centre for Innovation and Consultation (CIC), USM, played a pivotal role in initiating the collaboration, led by Dr. Muaz Mohd Zaini Makhtar, Deputy Director of CIC, together with Mr. Jason Tan Zhi Keong, Head of Human Resources at INV.
A total of 45 final-year students from the School of Chemical Engineering and the School of Materials and Mineral Resources Engineering attended the intensive full-day interview session, which began at 9.00 a.m. and concluded around 7.00 p.m. The session was conducted by Mr. Jason Tan and his team of two senior HR officers.
On Monday, 28 July 2025, Mr. Jason Tan personally returned to USM’s School of Chemical Engineering to present the official offer letters to the successful candidates, in a ceremony attended by Professor Ir. Dr. Zainal Ahmad, Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering, and Professor Dr. Zulkifli Ahmad, Dean of the School of Materials and Mineral Resources Engineering.A total of 23 graduates received employment offers, comprising 12 from the School of Chemical Engineering and 11 from the School of Materials and Mineral Resources Engineering. The successful candidates from the School of Chemical Engineering include:

All selected candidates have been offered a premium fresh graduate remuneration scheme, starting at over RM4,000 per month, along with a comprehensive benefits and allowances package.
They will commence their engineering training and career development programmes at INV’s state-of-the-art manufacturing plant located at Lot 138, Penang Technology Park, Jalan Tun Hamdan Sheikh Tahir, 13200 Kepala Batas, Penang.
This strategic collaboration not only strengthens the link between USM and global industry leaders but also highlights the readiness of Malaysian graduates to take on critical roles in advancing the nation’s high-tech manufacturing ecosystem.
