
Chemical Engineering School Organises Campus’ Senamrobik Session in Conjunction with the 25th Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Engineering Campus Anniversary

The session commences at 8.15 am and lasts for about 40 minute was held at the Dataran Lecture Hall Complex, within the campus. The programme attracted a total of 80 participants, reflecting strong engagement from the campus community. The session was conducted by a team of energetic instructors comprising Pn. Siti Hajar Mohd Sani and En. Muhammad Amirul Akmal Osman from the School of Chemical Engineering, alongside Pn. Ismarulhaida Ismail from the Co-Curriculum Centre, and Pn. Norhazim Zainudin and Pn. Fasihah Mohamad Saad from the Health Unit.
Promoting Health, Unity and Celebration
The aerobic session was organised with multiple objectives in mind, including commemorating the milestone anniversary of the Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Engineering Campus while encouraging active participation in fitness activities among the campus community. The programme also aimed to strengthen social cohesion and togetherness between students and staff through a shared recreational platform.
In line with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-Being, the initiative highlighted the importance of maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle across all age groups within the university environment. The upbeat session, guided by experienced instructors, created a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encouraged participation regardless of fitness level.
Encouraging a Culture of Well-Being
At the conclusion of the session, participants were presented with certificates of attendance in recognition of their involvement. To further promote healthy living, fresh fruits and mineral water were distributed, courtesy of the School of Chemical Engineering, the Co-Curriculum Centre, and the Health Unit.
The programme not only marked a meaningful celebration of the Engineering Campus’s 25-year journey but also reinforced the importance of well-being, community engagement, and work-life balance within the university setting.
Through such initiatives, the School of Chemical Engineering continues to play an active role in fostering a vibrant and health-conscious campus culture, aligned with USM’s broader mission of nurturing holistic excellence among its community.
