School of Chemical Engineering Staff Honoured for Excellence and Dedicated Service at USM Appreciation Ceremony 2026
30 June 2026 – The School of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) celebrated another proud milestone as six of its staff members were recognised for their outstanding contributions during the University Appreciation Ceremony (Majlis Penghargaan Universiti, MPU 2026). The ceremony was held on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, at the Main Hall, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Engineering Campus.
Organised annually by Universiti Sains Malaysia, the ceremony recognises staff members who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and performance through the Excellent Service Award (Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang, APC) 2025, as well as those who have dedicated many years of service to the University through the Appreciation Award 2026.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Sains Malaysia, Professor Dato' Seri Ir. Dr. Abdul Rahman Mohamed, together with members of the University's senior management, namely Professor Dr. Habibah A. Wahab, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Professor Dr. Wan Ahmad Jaafar Wan Yahaya, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Development Affairs and Alumni), Professor Dr. Azlan Amran, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Community Network), and Dr. Rafizal Abd Rahim, Bursar.


The event celebrated the achievements of staff members from across the University who have consistently demonstrated excellence, professionalism, and dedication in carrying out their responsibilities.

Recognising 25 Years of Dedicated Service
The ceremony also honoured staff members who have devoted a quarter of a century to serving Universiti Sains Malaysia.
Representing the School of Chemical Engineering, Professor Dr. Mohd Roslee Othman received the Appreciation Award 2026, recognising his 25 years of dedicated service to the University. His longstanding contributions to teaching, research, and academic leadership have played an important role in the School's growth and development over the years.
