4 September 2015, Pusat Pengajian Kejuruteraan Kimia telah ditugaskan untuk mengendalikan acara Walkrobik dan Sambutan Kemerdekaan dalam program Siswa Lestari Sidang Akademik 2015/2016. Satu jawatankuasa kerja telah dibentuk oleh Pusat Pengajian Kejuruteraan Kimia bagi tujuan ini dengan mendapat kerjasama dari BHEPA, Pejabat Pengarah kampus, Jabatan Pembangunan, Jabatan Keselamatan dan Unit Kesihatan.
In an exciting race of the 8th National Chem-E-Car competition (April 09, 2013) organized by the Institution of Engineers of Malaysia (IEM), USM team - Cattle-Ace from School of Chemical Engineering has managed to secure 2nd place in the poster presentation category. All of the teams stepped up to the challenge this year and has set a very good record in the car competition.
April 10, 2014 - In an exciting race of overall 49 teams in the 9th Chem-E-Car competition organized by the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), USM team - 4 TYN team from School of Chemical Engineering has won first prize in the poster presentation category.
Pusat Pengajian Kejuruteraan Kimia (PPKK) USM telah menghantar 3 pasukan bagi menyertai pertandingan Global Innovation Challenges (GIC) peringkat kebangsaan yang dianjurkan oleh American Chemical Society (ACS) bertempat di Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) pada 8 November 2014. ACS GIC 2014 bertemakan "Pendekatan Lestari bagi Keselamatan Air Global" adalah selari dengan visi USM yang menekankan pembangunan lestari.

NIBONG TEBAL, 30 November 2015 – 80 students from third year SCE (2014/2015 academic session) had successfully held an exhibition to showcase their undergone industrial training at the Multipurpose Hall, USM Engineering Campus. The students have to undertake their industrial training during the semester break starting from June 22, 2015 until September 4, 2015.
Undergraduate students from the School of Chemical Engineering has again made the school proud by winning multiple awards for their invention “CRUSTAGANT – Biodegradable and Natural Floc-Sorb from Biomass Waste” at The British Invention Show which was held in London, UK in October 2012. The team comprised of HOO PENG YONG, AZRINA BINTI MOHAMED ISA and MUHAMMAD YUSRI HADI BIN MUHAMMAD AZLI have invented an Innovative, Biodegradable, Green and Natural Coagulant - Flocculant - Adsorbent in a single step process from abundantly available biomass waste that can be used as an cost effective oily wastewater treatment. The awards won are:

Penang 22 June – Young researchers from the School of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia bagged two awards at the Novel Research and Innovation Competition 2013 (NRIC 2013) last night. The researchers of Meor Muhammad Hafiz Shah Buddin, 23 and Muhammad Razif Abdul Razak, 23 were beaming with excitement and pride when their hard work and innovation were rewarded and recognized as beneficial to the society at large.
It is with great pleasure to announce that School of Chemical Engineering USM has won the first and second places for the Car Competition and also the first place for the Poster Presentation of the 7th Chem-E-Car Competition organized by the Chemical Engineering Technical Division (CETD) of the Institution of Engineers of Malaysia (IEM). This achievement has placed USM as the national champion for the Chem-E-Car competition of 2012.
Penang, 27 June – A young trio of researchers from the School of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia, has made the school and the university proud when their research product won the Best Research Award at the National Research and Innovation Competition (NRIC) 2011.
NACES is an annual event for chemical engineering undergraduate students in Malaysia. NACES provides a platform for chemical engineering students to compete, share experiences and opinions on the issues relevant to the chemical engineering world such as environmental and sustainability issues. The theme for NACES 2013 was "Carbon Conundrum : Unraveling The Enigma". A total of 237 delegates from 15 higher educational institutions participated in this event.

Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) has secured a second place overall in the National Chemical Engineering Symposium (NACES) 2015, hosted by Curtin University, Sarawak.
