Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) through the School of Chemical Engineering and the School of Mechanical Engineering, has entered a research and technological collaboration with Petronas Research Sdn Bhd, one of the research and development arms of Petroliam National Bhd (Petronas).

The #ShellSelamatSampai Varsity Challenge programme by Shell is an inter-varsity road safety innovation competition which empowers varsity students in leading an innovative road safety project that would contribute towards eradicating road-related accidents. Due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, this competition will be held virtually this year. The preliminary judging session for the first stage of the competition was conducted on 19th September 2021. On the 27th of September 2021, it was imparted that the proposal submitted by TITANS has been selected as the top 20 teams to proceed to the next stage of the competition. TITANS comprise of undergraduate students from the School of Chemical Engineering and School of Materials & Mineral Resources Engineering, USM. This team is being supervised by Dr. Masrina Mohd Nadzir. The team members are Guneswaren Subramani, Aravind Karupaiah Muthuraman, Kesavan Nair Appu and Keijhendrri Chandran.

8 September 2021 - The 3rd SChE Postgraduate Colloquium was successfully held virtually and hosted by the School of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia. Prof. Ir. Dr Zainal Ahmad, Dean of Chemical Engineering School, expressed his warmest welcome to all the participants in his opening remarks. The sharing session started with Dr Olumide Bolarinwa Ayodele from International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, Portugal. Followed by presentation sessions by 40 postgraduates. A total of 40 research works have been presented in 4 parallel sessions. Besides presenting and sharing the research findings, the participants also being questions related to their research. It is a fruitful platform for all the postgraduates in sharing as well as gaining knowledge related to research work conducted in the School of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia.
